Pendulum (2025) is an experimental virtual production work that uses immersive digital environments to visualize the shifting psychological realities of bipolar disorder. Created using Unreal Engine and an LED volume, the film transforms physical space into a responsive emotional landscape, oscillating between contrasting worlds that mirror cycles of mania and depression. Through dynamic changes in color, scale, and temporality, the environment becomes an extension of the protagonist’s internal state.
Central to the work is a dialogue between the physical body and its digital double. A 3D-scanned and animated version of the protagonist appears alongside her live-action presence, creating encounters between self and self. This dual performance externalizes experiences of dissociation, fragmentation, and self-observation, allowing the protagonist to confront a mediated version of her own identity.
